Bio

SHE SAID SAVE ME is an alternative-punk band based out of Toronto, Ontario. It was formed in 2008 and consists of Joe Vercillo and Ryan Granville-Martin.

In 2008, Vercillo met Granville-Martin on the set of an RBC commercial in which they were both playing roles as rockers on a tour bus. Inevitably, the two mild-mannered musicians struck up a conversation about their musical endeavours. Vercillo was looking to record some original acoustic songs while Granville-Martin was looking to expand his client-base for his boutique home studio The Nucular Libary (intentional spelling). A few months later, Vercillo and Granville-Martin began making music together and have been doing so ever since.

A little background on the duo:

Drummer Ryan Granville-Martin has toured extensively through Canada, the USA, Europe and the UK including many international festivals. He has backed Kevin Hearn (Barenaked Ladies), Ron Sexsmith, Sarah Harmer, Daniel Lanois, Luke Doucet, Jill Barber, Matt Barber, Melissa MacLelland, Kurt Swinghammer, David Sereda, Molly Sweeney, Lenni Jabour, Paisley Jura, and more. He has played soft-seat theatres all across Canada and the US and has opened for, or shared stages with Arcade Fire, Blue Rodeo, Hawksley Workman, Gord Downie and the Country of Miracles, 54-40, No Means No, Sarah Slean, the Waterboys, and Jenn Grant, among others.

Joe Vercillo, on the other hand, used to be in a punk rock band called Good 4 Nothing and has played shows all over Ontario, including multiple shows at Call The Office (with Less Than Jake, Mr T Experience, Teen Idols), touring Ontario with Sewing With Nancie (now The Reason), playing shows in Northwestern Ontario with Closet Monster and also in Guelph, Windsor, Ottawa, Barrie and Oshawa with various Raw Energy bands like Three Impotent Males, and Out of Hand. Also played the El Mocambo in Toronto with Jersey.

Recently She Said Save Me has played The Hard Rock Cafe, Lee's Palace, The Garrison, The Supermarket, and Nood in Toronto as well as shows in Vercillo's hometown of Port Elgin.
