Shea Listen

Hey ya'll! My name is Shea Listen, and I am brand new to the music industry. I primarily love to sing country music but I have sang all kinds of different music. First, I wanna start out by sharing who has influenced my music career. Miranda Lambert is not only my favorite female country artist AND from my home state of Oklahoma, but her music never fails to tell a story and encourage young artists like myself and that is so inspiring. Carrie Underwood has been an influence on my music as well. Her story encouraged me to break out of my shell and try out for American Idol season 12. I had the opportunity to sing in front of Mariah Carey, Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj, and Randy Jackson. I made it to the top 160 before being cut during Hollywood week. Being on American Idol was the most educational experience to date. I learned that singing and being on stage is where I belong and that it takes hard work and dedication to get there. In 2010, I was given the chance to sing the National Anthem for the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs NBA basketball game in front of 19,000 people. Like I said, I am brand new to the industry and just starting out but I am ready to hit the ground runnin'! Hope ya'll enjoy!!
