Bio

The South Miami News hailed the Sheba Ensemble as “a delightful all female Jewish music group” demonstrating “virtuosic skills” and “elegant musicianship.” Based in New York City, the group creates a unique and contemporary sound by combining pop, world music, and jazz with Jewish music. Sheba's repertoire mixes arrangements of traditional songs with original music, borrowing from various folk music styles including Middle Eastern, Yiddish, Israeli and Ladino. The members of Sheba combine their love of Jewish music with virtuosity and classical training from the world's leading music conservatories. Sheba is comprised of a vocalist, flutist, violinist, cellist, and pianist.

Sheba has performed concerts in Florida, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and France. Media appearances include a television segment on the Manhattan Neighborhood Network, Radio J France, and Radio Centre-Ville Montreal. Sheba is the ensemble-in-residence at Temple Shaaray Tefila in Bedford Hills, NY. The ensemble has also collaborated with artists including award-winning violinist Mark O’Connor, Noah Solomon (SoulFarm), and pianists Anyssa Neumann and Natalie T
enenbaum.
