Rory O'Brien

Rory O'Brien

BandRockMetal

Sweet and gritty vocals over atmospheric rock guitar riffs, dark synth sounds, grooving basslines, and solid beats.

Biography

Sheeva’s members have racked up collaborations with Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim) and Chris Difford (of the band Sueeze) as well as TV appearances on the Jonathan Ross Show and MTV in the UK, and the Conan O’Brien show in the US. Influenced by acts such as Pink Floyd, Muse, and The Who among others, the band's penchant for becoming practically reclusive during writing periods results in a musical path unlike contemporary bands. It's got traces of rock and electronica, progressive even for all it's commercialism, and flourishes in a live setting.

Everybody Wants To Know

Written By: Pete York, Rory O'Brien

Everybody wants to know are we nearly there yet. Such a long way to go, we might get wet getting there.

A little raver kicking up the dance floor, feeling impatient, weighing up the score. A family man weighing up his options, ‘Is this all I’m here for?’ he says. A brave soldier, doing what they told ya, sticking to his guns and wanting an end to come to war, so he can go home.

Everybody wants to know are we nearly there yet. Such a long way to go, we might get wet getting there. Everybody wants to know,
are we nearly there yet. Such a long way, such a long way, such a long way to go.

Young nurse, money’s tight on her purse, looking for a lover who can love her. An old lady queuing up for ages, tearing out the pages of her broken heart. Sweet deal goes through for Jimmy. He’s a businessman with no plans and no money living for the moment. For the moment. Living for the moment and watching it go.

Everybody wants to know are we nearly there yet. Such a long way to go, we might get wet getting there. Everybody wants to know,
are we nearly there yet. Such a long way, such a long way, such a long way to go.

You only know what you’ve come from, trying to find where you belong. You think you know where you should go. Where is that? Where will you go from here?

Everybody wants to know are we nearly there yet. Such a long way to go, we might get wet getting there. Everybody wants to know, are we nearly there yet. Such a long way, such a long way, such a long way to go.

All This Time

Written By: Pete York, Rory O'Brien

I made a bet with the devil on my shoulder. They say you get wiser as you get older. I took a chance and it seemed to go his way, a red mist came down, led me astray.

Rain feels a little bit colder as it sinks in, not so hot blooded now, what was I thinking? Got to learn to hone my intuition, paying for a long time from a quick decision now.

And all this time my eyes were on the prize, and all this time I never realised, all this time I found my hands were tied. Sitting, waiting, feeling cold inside.

All this time, all this time.

Got some truth but you really won't like it, trying to beleive we're not all alike yet none of us win. Still, we get in, jumping head first wait instead first.

And all this time my eyes were on the prize, and all this time I never realised, all this time I found my hands were tied. Sitting, waiting, feeling dead inside.

All this time, all this time.

Red light means we go, you know I need it so. Reap just what you sow, nothing left to show for all my stupid actions now.

All this time, all this time.
