Drummer Jyn Yates, who recently scored a solid endorsement deal with Supernatural Cymbals, a new cymbal company with offices in Turkey, Nashville and LA, has assembled a female supergroup, called She Groove. The members are Cheryl Price, Yates, Angie Hopperton, Sue Riley, Carla Wright, Deanna Burnell and Debbie Burnell. The ensemble is a dance group, built around a double bass and drums rhythm section plus keys and four- and five-part harmonies. - Louisville Music News

This group contains a variety of female musicians in the Louisville, KY area.
A collaborated effort to produce a great sounding all female group, members Angie Hopperton, Sue Riley and Cheryl Henry Price found each other musically while playing years together in the Louisville blues group, Most Wanted. The three later collaborated with female percussionist Jyn Yates, a music teacher and percussion instructor at Mom's Music who had recorded and produced multiple albums in the indie/alternative scene. With Yates along with professional CPA turned bassist/vocalist Carla Wright, the group decided to form an ultimate all-female dance variety group.
The move also led to the quick addition of PRP marching band instructor and saxophonist, Debbie Burnell and her sister, the jack of all trades/co-founder of the Louisville blues band, St. John's Wort, Deanna Burnell, who helps level out a blazing horn section by providing not only trumpet, but guitar and vocals as well.
Most of the She Groove members have studied music and three have music degrees. Together the group is a magical formation of all that is good in the women Louisville music scene!
