Shelby Lowery

Shelby Lowery aka ‘Soullow’, was born in Chicago, IL.

Shelby comes from very humble beginnings being the oldest of 9 siblings. Starting in his childhood, Shelby experienced his mother’s alcoholism first hand and watched his step-father engage in low level criminal activity as a pimp and gangster. So, for a very long time, he has been in search of a better life.

Also as a child, Shelby faced abuse, depression, abandonment and molestation. He even fell victim to violent crimes. Shelby was a
runaway at 11 years of age to escape the toxic up-bringing by his mother and step-father.
By the time Shelby was 12 years of age he became a father. At age 15, he experienced an abduction attempt by the late serial killer Jeffery Dahmar.

In Shelby’s young adult years, he started a career in music as he worked with artist such as Mc Breed, The Dayton Family, Cold Blu, Ready For The World.

Shelby’s music career was short lived after he was robbed and shot 10 times. Shelby eventually moved to Atlanta, GA, where he met and eventually married Neffeteria Pugh aka Neffe, who is the older sister of the R&B sensation Keyshia Cole. He later appeared on her hit BET TV series ‘Keyshia Cole The Way It Is’ seasons 2 and 3. Subsequently, he appeared on the BET TV series ‘Frankie and Neffe’ seasons 1 and 2 and most recent ‘Iyanla Fix My Life’ for a two part series called broken reality.

Currently, Shelby has been working on a 3 part series book entitled ‘My Gift and My Curse’ The autobiography of Shelby Lowery, the story of my life.) The first book of the trilogy covers the younger years of Shelby’s life as he talks about things that were forbidden or considered taboo to talk about in black family’s across America. The second installment takes you deeper into Shelby’s marriage with Neffe entitled ‘My Gift and My Curse’ The autobiography of Shelby Lowery. An African American Husband the dying breed. Due to release in the Summer of 2020.

Shelby who has had a high profile split from his ex-wife Neffeteria Neffe Pugh in 2018 is now in talks for his own Dating show due to start production also in summer of 2020, along with starting a foundation for abused children and black men suffering from depression. Shelby is on the path to nothing but greatness. Shelby has a quote that he always shares “With God anything’s possible, If god can turn water into wine
