"SHELBY HORNER Enjoys His First-Ever CMA Music Festival!"

Nashville, TN (June 13, 2008) – SHELBY HORNER is winding down after a jam-packed CMA Music Festival week, during which he met fans, signed countless autographs, and performed shows at FUEL and Cadillac Ranch! He also interviewed with prominent country music media including Country Stars Online and BBC Radio in Lancashire! Shelby thoroughly enjoyed himself during the week, stating, “My 2008 CMA Music Festival experience was a great one, indeed! I had lots of fun and met tons of new people that I didn't even know loved my songs and me as an individual.”

Throughout the exciting week, fans met Shelby at the Greased Lightning, Mr. Coffee, Select Comfort, and VAULT booths. The following evening, Shelby entertained fans at Cadillac Ranch with “I'm No Pushover Now, “ “Anything,“ “Two Souls, “ “Can We Dance,“ “Hellbent On Havin' Fun,“ “Baby I Bet, “ and “Northern Born, Southern Bred. “ The live performances were Shelby’s favorite part of the week. “The most fun at the Festival was being on stage and seeing people filter in and packing the venue to hear my music!”

Shelby expresses gratitude to all who helped make his first CMA Music Fest a successful event! “I want to thank each and every one of my fans, my managers, and my PR team for helping make all this happen! You Guys and Gals.....ROCK!!!!!”

In other exciting news, Shelby picked up an investor after his show at FUEL, and will soon be heading into the studio to complete his second album. In the meantime, he will continue to promote his current single, “Baby, I Bet.”

About Shelby Horner:

Shelby was born with country in his blood. Born in Illinois, Shelby and his family moved to Colorado in his early teens, and it was there that he realized that singing is what he wanted in life. His country influences include George Strait, Randy Travis, and Garth Brooks. Mix in a little Styx and a dab of The Bob’s (an a cappella group), and you have yourself a well-rounded singer! Yes, Shelby loves all types of music, but his heart remains deeply rooted in Country.

His love for country music eventually prompted him to make his move to Nashville, Tennessee. Shelby has played live venues all over Tennessee, Colorado, Ohio, and Nebraska. His songs "No Pushover Now" and “Still” has earned airplay on several stations. Also a songwriter, Shelby wrote several songs on his album, The Rest of the Dream. Shelby is currently working on his second album. Since the passing of his father, Denny, Shelby’s drive to achieve a future in his music has grown even stronger. His father was a constant and true encouragement of his son’s music. - Star Country Media

The new single places Shelby on the country music map, and he appreciates Gene’s work in making the single radio-ready. “I am thrilled to have someone that has the stature of Gene Kennedy believe in my music!” Gene returns the favor, stating, “Shelby is one of the best artists I've worked with in years! He has a future in country music!”

"Shelby Horner – Testimonial from NixaCountry.com"

With relatable lyrics, exciting harmonies and a profound voice, Shelby Horner is ready for round two. After both of his debut Songs “Still” and “I’m No Push Over Now,” Horner had to come up with something special to advance even further. His album “The Rest of the Dream” does just that.” The New Stuff being worked on is going to be another side of Horner most folks have not had the chance to hear yet and will be very exciting to listen to.
Sensing that Horner loves what he does and desires to associate with his friends, fans and listeners everywhere he goes, it’s no surprise that he calls his music “down to earth and inspiring to listen too.” The single you’ve been hearing for weeks on nixacountry.com, “Still,” surely fits into that category. I knew right away that there was something about the song that reminded me of real life and how life just isn’t that bad, no matter what happens. Written about someone who makes your feel whole again and knowing what make you shine, the song is heartfelt and comforting to listen to, and a perfect song for fans to hear first.
“Country songs are all about the story,” says Horner. “They make people feel good because they’re about everyday life and everyone can relate to them. Singing a great country tune is all about taking the listener’s mind off the troubles of their day for three minutes, giving them a release, and making them laugh, cry or feel something new. Thirty seconds into ‘Still,’ people hear the tag line and start connecting with the song, and that’s when I know I’m connecting with them. But even though the song is very inspirational, naming the album The Rest of the Dream made sense in a more personal way because after years of hard work and energy we put into choosing songs, working on arrangements and recording it, it felt like we were finishing The Rest of the Dream, with something special.”
Shelby Horner is a singer/songwriter with a great future In front of him and we are very excited to hear more amazing songs from Horner. The Rest of the Dream was dedicated to Shelby Horner’s father, Denny Horner.

Bio

SHELBY HORNER began his life in Champaign, IL on May 11, 1972. Raised a farm boy on 161 acres outside the nearby town of Ludlow, to say country is in his blood would be a immense understatement.

In June of 1986, Shelby and his family moved to Loveland, CO, where music exploded into his life and awakened his talents. He realized singing is what he wanted in life, so he joined the local church choir at the age of 14. Soon he was performing in Barbershop Quartet's, schools and anywhere else he could find an audience. He was exposed to many genres of music during that time, his favorites being country and rock n roll. His early influences, like many others, were George Strait, Randy Travis, and Garth Brooks. Add a little Styx, a pinch of Gospel, and a dab of The Bob's (an a capella group), and you have yourself one well-rounded singer yet his heart remains country, like his roots.

In the fall of 1996, Shelby moved to Nashville to be closer to the heart of Country Music. Since then, he has performed all over Tennessee, Colorado, Ohio and Nebraska, and written several of his own songs, some appearing on his debut album The Rest Of The Dream. His first single release, "Baby I Bet," is currently receiving widespread airplay on small and medium markets nationwide. Shelby has been a member of BMI since 2006 and continues to evolve as a songwriter, musician, engineer and producer. He has collaborated with and performed songs from some of the best writers in the industry. Since moving out here I have met wonderful people, learned a lot, and still have more to learn.

2008 was a wonderful year for Shelby, with "Baby I Bet" climbing to the #80 spot on the New Music Weekly Charts and the #25 spot in that same publications Up and Coming Artist chart within 3 weeks of its release. A guest appearance on Billy Blocks syndicated Locals Only radio program and on-air interview on 103.3 WKDF FM led to a local release of the second single Hey Angel off of The Rest Of The Dream and an invitation to return to the show. CMA Music Festival was also hugely successful, with Shelby receiving sponsorships from NIXA Country Radio, Silver Eagle Bus Manufacturers, and SHM Studios. Shelby also spent time holding autograph sessions at several sponsor booths and packing venues at each of his live performances.

2009 looks to be an even bigger year, with Shelby focusing on new material, his second CD release, more appearances at CMA Music Festival, and performing abroad. He is also planning a special EP release party and showcase on June 5 at 12th & Porter in downtown Nashville to give his fans a peek at some of the new music featured on the upcoming album. Thank you to God for giving me this gift, my family, friends and fans for making all of this possible.
