Shelby Neubauer: Lead vocalist with a passion lying in country music. Her vocal abilities cover a wide array of songs and styles. With recent work in Nashville, her sense of stage work and performance has grown immensely. A believer in “the stage being home”, there’s nowhere else she’d rather be.

Biography

Shelby was born on April 6, 1991 in San Antonio, Tx. Growing up, music was always a prominent aspect of her life. From a musical family of singer/songwriters, pianists, and drummers, Shelby was destined to possess a passion for music.

Shelby recorded her first song in a professional local studio at age 7. As she grew older she gathered more experience recording cover songs and her dad's original music. Shelby also grew up singing in church. With her father as the Music Director at their local church, Shelby was given many opportunities to perform from the age of 7 and on.

Since age 10, Shelby has been taking private vocal lessons. She's been a member of many choirs, vocal performance ensembles, and show choirs. She also spent many years involved in musical theatre at her hometown high school.

Although she enjoyed singing opera pieces and oratorios, singing soprano in the choir, and belting Broadway tunes for recitals and musical theatre performances, Shelby wasn’t satisfied. “Being on stage was where I felt at home... the most excited, the most alive. But there was still something missing.”

Towards the end of high school, Shelby and her dad decided to put a band together and started playing local at restaurants and private parties. With a variety in genres, Shelby sang everything from Top 40’s hits, country tunes, sultry ballads, and classic songs from the 70’s and 80’s. It was then that Shelby realized her passion was in country music. “Something about having a full band behind me just gives me an excitement I can’t find anywhere else”, she says.

It was this realization that brought Shelby to Nashville. While other high school seniors were applying to multiple schools, Shelby was banking on one: Belmont. Sitting in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee, Belmont University has come to be known as one of the most prestigious universities for their Music and Music Business programs. Shelby applied to Belmont her senior year of high school and was accepted in January of 2009.

After a summer of more music and gigging around San Antonio, Shelby was off to Music City USA in the Fall of 2009. She is currently earning her Bachelor of Music at Belmont University, where many country stars including Brad Paisley, Trisha Yearwood, and Josh Turner attended and obtained their degrees. She is working towards her degree in Commercial Music, with principal in voice and an emphasis in Music Business. Shelby will graduate in May of 2013, and hopes to hit the ground running with her career upon graduation.

Lyrics

Comfort You

Written By: Shelby Neubauer and Kerry Neubauer

Verse 1:
Love comes, love goes
Sometimes we're not meant to understand
Some say that's the way it goes
But for a smile I'll say all that I can
Empiness and loneliness
It may seem it's all you'll ever know
But look at me and then you'll never be alone
I just wanna Comfort You

Verse 2:
I've been there, oh I understand
You feel like you may never feel again
If you let me, sit next to you
I hope you feel I'm more than just a friend
Cause every day, while you’re in pain
I’ve been here just wishin we were more
And now I find, I’m the one who’s knocking on your door

Chorus:
Cause I just wanna Comfort You
I just wanna sing to you
A simple song for only you to hear
I just wanna Comfort you
Give you back what you deserve
Listen and I'll make it very clear

Bridge:
Time flies, heart heals,
Pain fades it’s all real
Now it’s even harder to resist
Hearts pound, minds race to know the taste of a kiss

Cause I just wanna Confort You
Let me sing to you
I just wanna Confort You
Give you back what you deserve
Listen and I'll make it very clear

Cause I just wanna Confort You
I just wanna sing to you
A simple song for only you to hear
I just wanna Comfort you
Give you back what you deserve
Listen and I'll make it very clear
I just wanna Confort You

Waitin' On Me

Written By: Kerry Neubauer

Verse 1:
We've been a couple now goin' on a couple o' years
We're still on the road but we're stuck in second gear
I've been thinkin' a lot about getting to there from here
Don't get me wrong everything thing's been great
But we got another little bitty step to take

Verse 2:
You want a great big house on a whole lot of land
3 kids, 2 dogs and 1 wife to give you a hand
I think you know by now I'm your biggest fan
I saw the tear in your eye when your grandpa died
I have everything I need to know I want you for the rest of my life

Chorus:
When's the question gonna pop, the waitin' gonna stop?
The floor gonna hit your knee?
Are you waitin on the money? Wouldn't that be funny
'Cause that don't matter to me
Are you waitin' for someone to give you a shove?
Are you waitin' for a sign from above?
Open you eyes cause baby can't you see
You ain't waitin' on me!

Verse 3:
More pictures of you than me on my Facebook wall
I'm spending Monday nights with you and your football
I took a peak at a ring, you should seen what I saw!
Spending time with Mama to learn how to cook.
Doing every little thing I can so I can get caught on your hook!

(Chorus)

Bridge:
In this is day and age anything can change
Put tradition on the back shelf
I'll flip this scene and go buy me a ring
And just ask you myself. Then....

Chorus:
The question's gonna pop, the waitin's gonna stop
The floor's gonna hit my knee
Not tryin to be funny just showin' me the money
'Cause you're all that matters to me
Gonna show you what this girl's made of
I've seen too many sign's from above
Open your eyes now you're gonna see
You ain't waitin' on me!

Never Been

Written By: Kerry Neubauer

Verse 1:
That's it I've finally reached the point
I'm telling everyone that there's no way that I can take another day
I'm not quitin' don't you call me weak
I'm opposing what you think I'm gonna lay it down and put it on the line
I've been waitin' long enough the situation needs control
Sometimes people take from you more than they will ever know

Chorus:
No more waitin' for thoses pieces to just fall into place
No more hoping that tomorrow won't just be another day
I'm steppin out with more than just a smile upon my face, today
I'm going where I've never been

Verse 3:
Don't try and stop me I won't listen to a word you say.
I've been hearing too many people tell me what do just to get their way
All the chatter down the hall when I fall flat onto my face
I know that when I fall it's always under grace

Chorus:
No more waitin' for thoses pieces to just fall into place
No more hoping that tomorrow won't be just another day
I'm steppin out with more than just a smile upon my face, today
I don't need another plan I don't want no more advice
I don't mean to be mean but I tired of playing nice
My faith is just so real I don't have to roll the dice
To go where I've never been

Bridge:
So far my life has been a smooth ride
The only struggle I have is all in my mind

(Chorus)
