Day Dreaming

Written By: Sheldon Botler

Day dreaming of what is beyond these walls of mine
of my mind
Unsure, not ready to walk away from where I stand
at all
Then you came along
Then you came along with dreams
And visions of life anew
Then you came along with colors of golden hue

Words don't say much, when what I want feels out of my reach
People say that it's easy, but it's hard for me
My heart is not a game, I'm putting down this old charade
So shower me with light, again
Shower me with light again
And help me day dream of what could be

Cause each and every moment beyond what I'm used to is a journey
That I'm willing to take, when I feel safe

This is my heart
It only beats when I smile
This happens most when you're around

I day dream when I'm with you

The Message

Written By: Sheldon Botler

I’m not gonna run
I’m gonna do, what I need to do
Show you affection
Treat every moment like it was new
You don’t have to worry
You don’t have to hide
No need to protect your heart from me girl I’m benign

So, call me if your with this
Your voice is on my wish list
I know that it’s not christmas but I’m longing for your presence
In my everyday
Won’t you please check your answering machine

Cause this could be, such a beautiful thing
If we can trust again, see reality in our dreams
Said this could be, Such a beautiful thing
If we can trust again se reality in our dreams

You can wake up to kisses fall asleep with a smile
breathe calm and deeply
as I relieve thee of the days trials
I will not judge
I’ve done that crime
tired of unhealthy relationships
I’ve done my time

So call me if you’re with this
and I’ll fulfill your wishes
no I’m not a genie so you get more than three
we’ve got what so many live and die for
Connection and integrity

Cause this could be, such a beautiful thing
If we can trust again, see reality in our dreams
Said this could be, Such a beautiful thing
If we can trust again se reality in our dreams

Now I’ve never been so comfortable
Both inside and out, I’m glowing
Because of your light
And I’ve never guaranteed my love
with conviction
so I’m ready to work it out

Cause this may be, such a beautiful thing
If we can trust again, see reality in our dreams
Said this could be, Such a beautiful thing
If we can trust again se reality in our dreams

Keep Going

Written By: Sheldon Botler

Growing up can be hard sometimes, but giving up is much harder,
you’ve got to keep going, you’ve got to keep going

I’m trying to live a kush life but I’m not talking about that mary jane
I’m talking silent nights a good book an airplanes
My baby by my side, a lover for my mother
Streets without police shootin at innocent brothers
Playgrounds without adults doing dirty deals
Playing a game of basketball without carrying steel
Living instead of just surviving like a game of chess
Loving myself first, and ridding my body of stress

But, I wish it was as easy as sayin’ it, it’s a whole lot different
When you live everyday in it
The concrete jungles, the homes without support,
The neighborhood with crimes no body dares to report
No food on the table and you still got a report due
Damn-it I wish that I could afford to support you
Cause I watch everyday the drama that you resort to
But I’m proud of you I still admire your fortitude

I don’t even trip even trip when you try to cop a attitude
I know the feeling, you’re just doing what you’ve gotta do
Every once in a while it hits me, I feel the stress
Wanna take the easy route, but remember I’m gaining less
Through the hardships I’ve gained lessons
Wise enough to love my supporters and count my blessings
As I strive to touch hearts with music and support my brethen
I know that never giving up is my greatest weapon.

Growing up can be hard sometimes, but giving up is much harder,
you’ve got to keep going, you’ve got to keep going

It makes me crazy how they do us dirty
Selling us rules before birth train your soldiers early
Giving us fast food religion, never read the book
Barely understand the system cause we can’t cook
Government keeps us separated by these boarder lines
Imaginary but powerful like stereotypes
Loud and clear through the magazine stereo-hype
There’s only one way to take control of you life
Cash, money, good sex, a neck full of ice
Never mind the consequences give in to the vice
Take a loan out on your morals cause fame is priceless
That’s how they keep you coming back and working that night shift

Don’t fit the standard stick this under your eyes lids
Feeling ugly put this make up over your iris
Not big enough to fit in homie try this
Till your body breaks down and you’re left with a likeness

Like growing up in the matrix
Only those with clear vision are allowed to play tricks
Are you asleep or awake like the mages
Don’t be fooled by the letters on the pages
How many times must the authors translate this
Before you realize reality can shape shift
You too can influence your fate if
You remember these words as you play this
