Bio

It is every young girls dream to perform on a stage and captivate the audience. Yet very few of these girls are blessed with all the qualities to make these dreams a reality. Sheldon Hawthorne is that uniquely talented young lady. With an infectious can-do attitude and magnetic personality, she is a thoroughly modern girl, worldly, confident with big ideas and tons of enthusiasm.

Born June 2, 1993, she began singing Broadway musical songs at the age of three. Sheldon planned a four year old “Evita” birthday party where she entertained the guests singing “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina.” She wished for a trip to New York City “to see the real Broadway” for her seventh birthday. Music, theater, books and movies have been a backdrop for all of Sheldon’s twelve years.

Sheldon experienced her first audition at the age of six. She sang Think of Me from Broadway’s Phantom of the Opera to an awed panel at Seaside Professional Music Theater and won the role of Mary in the operetta Street Scenes. She continued her acting education as a duckling in the musical Honk, and then as Susan in the classic, Miracle On 34th Street. At age nine she was honored to play young Cosette in a production of Les Miserables in Orlando, Florida.

One of her most exciting experiences has been working with the award winning, multi-platinum, songwriter/producer Billy Chapin. She loved the recording studio. Her confidence, enthusiasm and ability were clearly obvious. Mr. Chapin commented that “Sheldon is one of the most talented young artist’s I have worked with. Her star is definitely rising.”

In spite of her God given perfect pitch, Sheldon dedicates a lot of time to her musical training. She studies with a classical voice coach as well as a stage singing coach, creating a diverse repertoire which includes opera, Broadway, pop and rock songs. She also works hard at piano lessons and is now writing her own music and lyrics, recently co-writing a song for a movie project. Another of her songs, It’s A Girl Thing, was picked up by UGOGRL as the theme song for their trading cards for girls, sold at retail locations across the nation.

As varied as her acting and music, Sheldon’s style and flare for living is even more diverse. A straight “A” student in Florida’s gifted student program, her favorites are reading, French, science and writing. She is an accomplished artist and has completed more than ten oil paintings. She fills her after school free time with horseback riding, surfing, tennis, golf, kayaking, dance lessons and gymnastics.

Sheldon’s positive attitude shines in every endeavor she undertakes. Her zest for living is contagious. Her intelligence and maturity are beyond her years. As Sheldon takes the first steps toward spreading her wings, these qualities that define her life will enable her to make her dreams a reality.
