Bio

Born in the forest covered Blue Mountains of Australia, you'd find Shelley barefoot, sitting up on a branch, writing stories about ants!! Disappearing into the lush green trees for hours, birds and lizards were as much a part of her life as family and friends. Creativity in any form captivated her....dancing, singing, painting, theatre....performing started at an early age.
So it's no surprise her music is filled with images of wild places, and her vivacious character draws you into an entertaining performance.

Shelley began classical vocal training which deepened her focus on music, recording her first EP at Soundview Studios.
Having no inhibitions and strong ideas, she happily got up in front of thousands to perform her song "Free Tibet" at the 1999 Peace Rally in Sydney. Logging of old growth forests inspired Shelley to organise benefit concerts for the Wilderness Society in Sydney, Cairns and Hobart. Through her music she continues to spread her passion for the protection of our wild places.

Travelling has been a constant source of musical inspiration. A year spent in Canada's spectacular mountains resulted in her self titled album "Shells", later produced with her 5 piece band whilst living in Sydney. The folkie sounds of fiddle harmonizing with cello, djembe rhythms, guitars and Shells powerful voice floated out of many a venue over those 5 years.

Gypsy feet and a wild heart knew Sydney was not to be her home forever. Like a magnet, Shells found herself following the Festival Circuit around Australia. As an independent solo artist she is gradually making a name for herself by performing at every open Festival stage, in venues all over the East Coast, up to Darwin's heat and down to Tassie's cold.

Now based in Mullumbimby Northern NSW, Shells is starting to collaborate with other muzos once again. So we'll be hearing some Bass guitar at her next gig!!

Ultimately, Shelley would love to perform to an international audience and to have people around the world listen to her music and be moved by the experience
