Bio

“Her strikingly beautiful voice is distinctively Australian, and the smooth, soft tones of her music conjure images of the natural wonders she sings about.” Rave Magazine.

Born in the forest filled Blue Mountains of NSW, Australia, now living in the rainforest covered village of Kuranda in Far North Queensland, wherever she goes ‘Shells’ always finds herself surrounded by natural beauty.
‘Shells’ appreciation of the different landscapes and beauty of the diverse Australian bush features in her songs and is a driving force in the creation of her music.
With her soft yet powerful Folk solo performances ‘Shells’ can play to any crowd. ‘Shells’ captivates her audience with her excitement then moves them with her creative depth.
‘Shells’ has been working independently in the Australian Music Industry for 12 years and in this time has; successfully toured the East Coast from Cairns to Tasmania; toured internationally to England, Canada, and Northern USA; released two full length albums and one EP.
‘Shells’ first two projects were recorded and released in Sydney. Her EP ‘Earth Whispers’ in 1999 and her debut, self titled album ‘Shells’ in 2003. ‘Shells’ debut album was recorded with an array of Celtic style instruments including violin and cello, which creates a traditional folk/pop sound.
The more Folk/Rock angle of her most recent release ‘More to Life’ recorded in Far North Queensland in 2010, has turned ‘Shells’ shows into a more upbeat experience. Now incorporating a punchy back line of drums and bass guitar to her live performances, ’Shells’ is finding her new, bigger sounding outfit on more main stages than ever before.
‘Shells’ has been invited to play main stage performances at Festivals such as, The Tablelands Folk Festival @ Yungaburra, the Northern Beaches Music Festival in Sydney, the ‘Yeppoon Village Festival and the ‘Wallaby Creek Festival’ to name a few.
As well as being a seasoned festival performer, ‘Shells’ also provides quality workshops to the many east coast festivals of Australia. At Peats Ridge Festival, her extremely popular Poi twirling Workshop overflows the Workshop tent every year. ‘Shells’ also teaches fun children’s Poi Twirling workshops which are a hit at many festivals.
‘Shells’ goals are to continue climbing the Music Industry ladder; to perform at more Festivals; to get her music into mainstream media (Radio, TV); continue touring Australia, and the World; and most of all, continue enjoying the Journey. “To love the life you live is to live a life of love”
