Bio

Trust, love, betrayal are key elements running through Shelton Davis' debut album "Bittersweet and Low." Emotionally honest, the music takes you on a ride through the landscapes of the soul. Shelton Davis is, Tim Shelton (guitar and bass) and Lance Davis (voice, guitar, juno-6 and drums).

Friends for almost 20 years, the two came together to record the album in an old art studio in Frenchtown, NJ in the spring of 2002. They began the project with 26 songs between them, but abandoned them when life intervened and wrote all new material. "That's the beauty of having your own studio,” says Davis, "being able to record the songs as they are being written. You just capture so much more emotional integrity that way. It was a tough year for me, much of the material is based on trust and the lack thereof in times of uncertainty, trust in making right decisions, trust in other people and mainly trusting yourself...your gut."

Recently, guitarist Chris Horne, bassist Ric Tutlo and drummer Greg Shelton joined the machine to broaden the scope by creating soundscapes and adding textures to the whole. Live, the sound is EuroRock underground rootsie folkie stripped down, with a hint of atmospheric psychedelia. In their possession is a surreal ability to conquer many different musical wavelengths and still be able to transform all of them into their own sound. They're everything that you hoped music could be, like a butterfly dropping an atomic bomb.

They are currently writing and recording material for their next record.
Stay tuned for performance updates for 2006.
