"Blues News"

“Recently on a trip to Flips Bar and Grill on Lake Keystone at Pier 51 to see Scott Ellison with several members of the Blues Society we found an amazing discovery. Because of scheduling conflicts, Scott was not there and a duet, named Sheri Booth and Mike Polk were there. I listened to a song or two and thought, well, its not Blues but this is great! By the end of the evening (we couldn’t leave) I knew this was a rare talent. Sheri and Mike are writing their own stuff and cover some of most heartfelt music over the last thirty years, their repertoire is huge including some blues too. Another member of BST was heard to say, “ The kid has some good strokes” referring to Mike Polk’s guitar. However, Sheri’s singing is just incredible. Her range is amazing in that whiskey and cigarettes velvet voice and that’s not all, the best part is her interpretation of a song, she makes it her own. Sheri also paints and has designed her own web site www.sheribooth.com where your can find the gigs and pick a CD. She also has started the Diana Roberts Foundation to help victims of domestic violence. Go see these two you will not be disappointed, besides they are great people too!” -Rauser - Blues Society of Tulsa
