Bio

When Sheriff Scabs and his band walked off the stage of Chicago's Abbey Pub in January 2008, the sold out crowd was in utter amazement. Sure Sheriff Scabs was only the opening act that evening, but their 25 minute set had clearly stole the show.

That is how Sheriff Scabs has always worked, taking the curiosity of the masses and turning it on their unexpecting ears. Each show is different from the one previous. From creative songwriting and talented instrumentation to commanding stage presence in their dynamic exhilarating live shows. They are facetious and vivacious as they are astonishing and devastating. Whether Scabs is playing a short solo acoustic set, the whole band rocking out with their wrack inducing intensity, or they are joking around on stage and setting Guinness world records for "Longest Big Rock Finish Outro"(yes, they actually set that record), the crowd is always treated to what some are hailing as the best live rock show in Chicago.

Sheriff Scabs is the former front man of Black Cuntry Rock, a semi-popular late 90's Chicago Glam-Punk outfit. He is also the founder of Failure To Communicate Records and has worked with such bands as The Dresden Dolls, Evanescence, The Arcade Fire, Kill Hannah, Voltaire, Black Tape for a Blue Girl, and David J from Bauhaus/Love and Rockets, among many others. He also played bass for a short time with the industrial-metal band Fashion Bomb, where met his band members DreG, Bambi, and Mode.

Although the members of Sheriff Scabs come from backgrounds in very heavy music, their sound defies genre. They fit in perfectly at a heavy metal bar or an punk rock club as they would at a folk rock concert or an indie alternative festival. They play a CAN'T MISS performance every time. They are the local water cooler band that everyone talks about the next day. They are rock stars on stage, and everyone's best friend off stage. No matter who's watching them or what they're specificly into, everyone seems to love something, if not everything Sheriff Scabs has to offer.

The band is currently in the studio, working on the follow up to their full length debut, A Deep Six Holiday, which was released in October of 2011. They have also recieved some acclaim as of late for their hard rock cover of Lady GaGa's "Bad Romance" which was released as a single in June 2010.
