From the mountains to the sea, it's just ME! Original folk, rock, spiritual and childrens' music from a mom, musician, mentor and maniac living on the coast of NC...songwriter, performer and promoter of several festivals....SUPPORT THE ARTS!

Biography

I'm a mom, musician, mentor and mover of many things, and as a songwriter and performer, I bring my varied experiences to life thru song. When my son was ready to graduate preschool, I sat up all night writing Child's Rhyme...a world of my own; when John Denver suddenly died (I was one of his biggest fans) the song Ode to JD wrote itself, actually; Knockin', my most popular tune so far, was written with a child-hood crush; The North Wind, also locally popular, was written by flashlight huddled in a evacuation building during 1996's Hurricane Fran, a strong cat-3 storm, Baptism, Faith and The Canvas are all strong spiritual journeys I've experienced, and there's much much more

Lyrics

The One-Eyed Parrot Song

Written By: Sherrie T. L. Bowen

The One-Eyed Parrot Song
Copywritten 1999

Soft and Easy, Summer Breezes
Blowing over the water
Come take me on Home
My worries are gone
Sailing on this song to my heart.

Flowing freely summer breezes
Guide me over the water
Come show me the way
I won't be afraid
Please take me away to your world.

Close your eyes, come lay upon the sand
Close your eyes, and you'll start to understand
Close your eyes, and breathe in the summer breeze
Close your eyes, and drift away with me.

Gently feeling, summer breezes, take me over the ocean
So wild and free
On wings I can be
Wherever the sea settles down

(Repeat Chorus and take out)

Childs Rhyme...a world of my own

Written By: Sherrie T. L. Bowen

Child's Rhyme...a World of my Own
Copywritten 1996

In a world of my own
I would never be alone
All my days would be light
and the stars would fill the night.

We could play all the time
And the neat toys would be mine
All the choc'late I see
Would end up in my tummy.

But wait, little child, the time will come soon
When you have put away your Man in the Moon
You're growing up so fast
Please make this moment last.......

In a world of my own
I would never be alone
All my days would be light
And the stars would fill the night.

No more chores to be done
Only lots and lots of fun
I can't wait 'till I'm grown
In a world of my own.

Don't rush little one
The time soon will come
When you have put away your childhood fun
You're growing up so fast
Please make this moment last......

In a world of my own
I would never be alone
All my days would be light
And the stars would fill the night.

I can't wait 'till I'm grown
In a world of my own
I can't wait 'till I'm grown
In a world.............of my own.
