Sherry Drive

A 2009 basement project in Omaha, Nebraska resulted in one of today’s most original fusions between metal, punk, 80s rock, and 90s grunge – Sherry Drive! Father and son Rich & Anu Ratzburg had been playing classic metal on a routine basis until they began designing their own content. Anu’s prodigal hard metal guitar talent and Rich’s social graces and rhythm blues attracted day-job colleagues and active duty military members Darin Schmeltzer (drums) previously of cover bands The Shrooms and Country Western Jukebox out of eastern Iowa, Rusty Perry (vocals) a degreed theatre major, and Jeremey Meyer (bass) previously of the Wayne grunge band Shrewdness -- all of which were coincidentally serving active duty tours in Nebraska.

In late 2012, each band member was honorably discharged from active duty in the United States Army & Air Force. They began playing open mic and private shows until, in 2013, they received 3rd place at the Gorilla Music Battle of the Bands and were selected to help say goodbye to the Famous Louis Bar in Benson, NE by playing the final show with the American Hitmen (featured on America’s Got Talent season 8).

In 2014, Sherry Drive debuted its first studio album Sherry Drive: One Lane Bridge EP. Has been interviewed by PopVulture Magazine, FM 89.7 The River, and Project Independent.
