Taking several of Sherry Kennedy’s vocal workshops were truly enriching experiences for me thanks to the expertise of this talented musician. As a singing teacher, Sherry was extremely knowledgeable and knew how to guide us through various exercises and techniques so essential for good singing. She also knew where each of her students was in their singing ability and how to enable each one of us to grow from that point. As well, due to her own success and experience as an outstanding performer, she taught us much about stage presence and showmanship. Above all this however, Sherry’s teaching ability shone even brighter as she inspired us through her own amazing voice and exuberant personality. She made each of us believe in ourselves and know that we each could achieve whatever we set our mind on. This to me is the greatest gift a teacher can impart and I am so thankful to have been able to work with Sherry Kennedy—an inspiring teacher and awesome person!.

Sherry Kennedy has been entertaining audiences for most of her life. The Alberta born singer/songwriter/actor started her career at the ripe old age of 5, when while singing in Community Halls and Churches, she recorded her first record. Today some decades later, Sherry has become an internationally, acclaimed recording artist recording, performing in Canada the US and Europe. Sherry released her first single “Rockies in the Rain” to the European market. Since then, she has recorded three different CD’s, and had two music videos on CMT. Recently Sherry received an award for her songwriting abilities from the MIAOTW (Major Independent Artists of the World) and is currently recording her newest CD "Shades of Jazz and Blues". The CD was released in January 2007.
Sherry Kennedy has written and performs currently in the many different productions she has created. “The Wonderful Women of Song” which pays tribute to the Diva’s of the stage that have been singing and dancing their way into our hearts over the past Century. “A Country Evening” is an evening of toe-tapping country music from the many greats of today, as well as featuring the songs from Sherry’s country albums. “Minestrone for the Ears” is a delightful show with music that feeds the soul. “The Champagne West Show” (but you can call me Bubbles!) is Canadiana at the turn of the last Century! Everyone is sure to enjoy this energy, fun filled mini dinner theatre production. A fully costumed cast, complete with the owner of the establishment, Champagne West, Can-can dancers and even a singing Mountie! Sherry’s newest production is “Shades of Jazz and Blues. It is a tribute to the geniuses of the time who inspired musicians and music lovers throughout the world. Sherry’s newest CD is entitled “Shades of Jazz and Blues”.
Along with recording and performing Sherry Kennedy is also a sought after vocal coach. She has always believed that music is a healing art form and has inspired many people from different walks of life to experience the joy of singing at a non-professional level. That being said, the people who have taken the workshops that Sherry offers also enjoy the increased level of confidence singing and performing brings. .In fact many of her coaching students have moved forward into professional careers of their own.
As much as Sherry loves the recording process and being in the studio behind the microphone, she is also finding it extremely fascinating being the producer. She has produced her own Christmas CD, “Reflections of Christmas” and has worked as Executive Producer on her “Ordinary Woman” CD, as well as, her upcoming “Shades of Jazz and Blues” album. Sherry extends her experience and is enjoying producing some up and coming talented new artists. She loves the process and works above and beyond to help make the “first” studio experience as painless as possible.
