Sherry Lynn Wright

Sherry was born in London, Ontario but soon after moved to Germany where her father was stationed with the Canadian Armed Forces. As with many military famililies, the family moved around quite a bit but they finally settled back in Edmonton, Alberta when Sherry was 4. Soon after, they found their permanent home in a small town North of Edmonton, called Morinville, where she grew up and went to school. After graduation, Sherry began modelling and later decided to move to Vancouver, British Columbia to see what she could accomplish there.
Sherry has spent the last 10 years performing her music in Western Canada. She originally started as a part of a 4 member group but it soon became evident that each of them had different career goals. Because of this, during the fall of 2001, Sherry decided to pursue a solo career in Vancouver and Edmonton. During this time, she also did numerous birthday parties and special events portraying the legendary Marilyn Monroe. From the Fall of 2001 to the Spring of 2006, Sherry found herself a musical homebase in her hometown of Morinville, Alberta as a singing hostess for entertainment events at Rednex Bar & Grill. She also appeared as the opening act for various concerts in Alberta.
During the Fall of 2004, Sherry recorded 3 songs with Blair Calibaba (Heart, Sum 41, Gob) and David Kershaw (Sarah McLachlan). Since the summer of 2005, Sherry has been developing her song-writing and performance skills. Sherry has also formed very strong partnerships with a number of Alberta-based songwriters to co-write with.
During the Winter of 2006, Sherry took on the role of portraying Shania Twain at numerous retail and niteclub events for the launch of Shania's newest fragrance. The overwhelming public response to Sherry's impersonation of Shania was remarkable with many of the public truly believing Sherry WAS Shania!
Sherry's hard work and dedication has paid off with the completion of her debut album "Hope In My Eyes". It is an eleven track album that incorporates Pop, Rock and New Country sounds with a good mix of upbeat songs and ballads. She grew up loving the Rock 'n' Roll sounds of Kiss, Sweet, Aerosmith, and Motley crue but was greatly influenced by the amazing energy of Elvis and Tina Turner. She has always had an affinity for the Outlaw Country sounds of Kris Kristofferson but most recently has been influenced by the New Country sounds of Keith Urban, Shania Twain, and Faith Hill.
Sherry loves to perform in front of a live audience and she feeds off the crowd's energy. It's quite evident Sherry loves her Country influences but the Rock side of her definitely comes alive during her live performance.
