Still working on that hot first release.

Sheryl Crawford-Austin has been writing songs since she was a child. Her love for gospel music was influenced by artists such as the Clark Sisters, the Winans Family and Walter Hawkins. In 2002, she released her first album entitled "After the Storm". The cover song won her a place as a
finalist in the Austin Songwriters Group 2004 Song Contest. Her second album, "Journey in Faith", was released in 2007 with GSound Records. Crawford-Austin feels that God inspires her to write music that provides comfort to others. She says "God has brought me through various
trials to make a difference in someone else's life. The songs you hear are my testimonies."

Her music has been described as contemporary, uplifting, easy listening, and meditative.

Most of Sheryl's life was spent growing up in Houston, Texas but she is originally from Oklahoma. Crawford-Austin was raised in a Christian home in which prayer, bible study and service to others was highly enforced. "My parents are living examples of the phrase 'a family that
prays together stays together'. Through them I was taught to always do my best whatever the task. My dad especially, has shown me that life is
not a selfish journey. We are placed here to help others in any way we can." she says.

Currently, Sheryl also works as a community educator. She is a registered dietitian and received her bachelor's degree in dietetics from
Texas Woman's University. Sheryl is involved in her community through her church and other organizations. "Many people helped me get to
where I am today and my desire is to be a positive influence as well."
