Shida-Porche'

Shida-Porche’ is a 21 year old female rapper born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Born Rashida Porche, Shida-Porche’ is a former member of the girl group Nia, which means purpose in Swahili. Music is definitely her purpose.

Like many greats, she discovered her vocal talent growing up in the church choir. But after watching and listening to music so much, she realized that one day she herself would be on stage performing and touching fans all over the world. Nia was on the road to success, but internal problems provided many road bumps. While in the group Shida-Porche’ was suffering from family tragedy and major problems in the group which became very hard for her to stay focused. At that time she decided to take a break from the music because of all the problems she was facing in the group. The group broke up 3 years ago. After the group went their separate ways, she realized what she was missing in her life and that was music.

Being the youngest of 8 children, Shida-Porche’ never really got that much attention. As an artist she now commands it. She-da is very determined to show all ranges of this talent, taking charge of an audience, making all listen to her deep powerful voice. A female lyricist breaking the stereotypes in the industry, Shida-Porche’ is proving that she’s not just a pretty face, but the tomboy next door. Music is her passion and heart and everything she has worked so hard for. Her other motivation are the deaths of her mom and her oldest sister. For them, she will continue to conquer her dreams.

Rashida has said that “performing as a solo artist it built her confidence and self-esteem that people never new she had.” When she’s on stage she becomes another person-Shida-Porche’ a variety of combinations in one. She’s the one who demands respect. Her style is very sexy, classy, hardcore, sassy, sophisticated, and unique. Her music style is a mixture of Ciara, Beyonce, Usher, Tupac, Mc Lyte, Aaliyah, Janet Jackson, and Kelis. As a group she’s toured with major artists like Ciara, Lloyd, Lil Scrappy, and Young Joc.

To describe Shida-Porche’ with one word, it would be “Creative”, meaning to evolve from one’s own thought or imagination, as a work of art and music. Her music motto is “Hard work first and celebrate after the task is done!!!”
