SHINA

It is to used to be said that some of the best artists fight with tormented souls. Shina often reminds that her smile is a “window-dressing”, bearing in secret a deep heartache within herself. It’s a balad full of silent grief, a devoted part in her life. Nothing to do or undo, this is it. She did not learn the Fado, it came to her; over and above the fact she chose this music style, Fado has been and will remain a choice of life.

Shina doesn’t sing Fado, she lives Fado.

Shina is an artist who has always been singing, developing herself to music as deep as her memories can bring her. She was born and raised in France as a daughter of an immigrant family.

After having tried various musical styles, the Fado has taken her over. Since the release of her first album "Sinto-me Fado", "Je me sens Fado", she henceforth represents children of immigrants shared between two languages and countries.

Her second album "Mon Fado" is the most special for her: it’s hers, just hers, it means what she is, what she feels…

Custódio Castelo : he is undeniably the master of Portuguese guitar, the Fado instrument. He’s been advising, assisting and guiding Shina in every single moment of her life.   He’s always been the “right-hand man” to her.

Bireli Lagrène : one of the most famous guitarist in the world. He discovered the Fado, he enjoyed the Fado and ultimately loved the artist’s universe. Both of them are now intermingling their universes, two worlds, two personalities.
