Feeling a bit camera shy

Shining Farmer is an adult alternative group based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The quartet plays original music featuring unique instrumentation, thoughtful poetic lyrics and vocal harmonies. Their sound has been compared to Coldplay, Matchbox Twenty, Five For Fighting, Verve Pipe, Ben Folds and Train. Mike Gentry, Amy Morgan and Gil Clark met each other in music school at Eastern Michigan University. The trio soon met drummer Ted Ribbens while teaching at the DayJams Rock and Roll Summer Camp in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The sound of the band is characterized by Amy Morgan's breezy, soaring and melodic piano. Gil Clark's classic deep-toned bass style compliments amy's piano work nicely. The band is driven by Ted Ribben's crisp and exciting drumming. Shining Farmer is fronted by Mike Gentry's expressive and passionate vocals and guitar work. The songs range from optimistic, bright pop to dark and introspective ballads. The groups ballad "Rescue" is destined to become a standard.
