"Shiny Darkly, Spot Festival, VoxHall, Aarhus, Saturday 5th of May 2012"

(The review is in danish):

5/6 stars

De nye Crunchy Frog-signede darlings fra Shiny Darkly lød som en fabrik fyldt med velsmurte maskiner, der producerer iskolde toner over en klippe-tight rytmesektion og tilsætter det spilleglæde og rocknerve. Bang! Så har man en god koncert!

.."The newest signed darlings from crunchy frog sounded like an fabric filled with oiled machines that produce icecold tones over a rock-solid rythm section and add the joy of playing and a rock nerve. BANG! Then you have a good show" ...

.. "Every tone and every beat sounded like a matter of life and death" ...

Bio

Let us introduce you to Shiny Darkly. Crunchy Frog signed them in February. At that point the band had been together for less than a year. But man, did they have the goods? We released a 6 track EP in May. The sound: dark, highly electric, narcotic drone-like sound, much inspired by the post punk and shoegaze of the 80s and bands like Joy Division, The Cure, Echo & The Bunnymen + Jesus and Mary Chain, but also with a flavor of the 60s and 70s and bands like Velvet Underground, The Stooges and 13th Floor Elevators. The band were (almost) instantly booked for both Roskilde Festival and Spot Festival. They played both festivals this summer to great acclaim. Now they are gearing up for their first UK tour after gaining a lot of positive vibes from the music press over there.
