Shirakashi

Shirakashi is a fusion of many styles and genres, creating a genre all its own. With influences ranging from blues to psychedelia, power-pop to Japanese noise, Shirakashi is one of the most original bands to come out of Liverpool for a long time. The philosophy of the group is to make music that is serious and experimental, but that is accessible to a wide audience.

Shirakashi has an unusual line-up of musicians, including violin, cello and keyboard in with the usual drums-bass-guitar, giving the group a soundworld all its own. The musicians come from a wide range of musical backgrounds, from Classical to funk, pop-rock to noise. The strength of Shirakashi lies in the way its members have fused these diverse influences and starting-points into one unified musical language.
