Shiri is a one-of-a-kind artist whose talent encompasses a vast range of sounds and styles from jazz to pop from Latin to blues that blend into a unique style, not easily defined but guaranteed to please within an electrifying performance. Whether playing to the crowd or singing a pre-formatted line-up, one of Shiri's gifts lies in her ability to captivate her audience and take them to new heights one show stopper at a time.
Born in Clarksville, Tennessee, this flower bloomed on the shore of Lake Michigan in the Windy City, Chicago. For Shiri, the desire to perform came at an early age. At six, she began music and dance training. At the age of 12 she began to study voice at the Sherwood Conservatory of Music. During her teen years, she traveled to Romania, Poland, and the Soviet Union as a featured dancer and soloist with a community choir. Upon graduating from DePaul University, she worked as an Operations Manager until a corporate lay-off led her full circle from corporate climbing to the Chicago music scene.
She emerges today as a major presence on the Chicago music scene. She has enjoyed long term gigs in Japan and Europe, as well as, repeat performances at Harrah's Casinos, Showboat Casinos, Radisson Star Plaza, Empress Casinos, and many clubs and restaurants throughout the Midwest. She has been a notable figure on the corporate and society band circuit by appearing with many prominent bands. Shiri is a much demanded musician contractor, studio background singer and arranger. A local following lends strong support to her powerful live performances.
Scheduled to release her first self-written ad self-produced CD, "Selfishly Shiri", her career is in full bloom. Precisely arranged tracks combined with a powerful delivery of sultry originals will captivate listeners as they journey through a unique array of live music and soul stirring vocals. Multicultural audiences of all ages will enjoy her soulful, high energy performances of her original music mixed with hints of blues, rock, and Latin music. Listening to her style reminds you of many notables like Gladys Knight, Bonnie Raitt, Seal and Corrine Bailey Rae, to name a few. For sure, she is a dynamic, high energy storyteller.
