"World/Inferno Friendship Society Live in Brooklyn"

"...A combination of early Poison Girls, east coast hardcore, and modern melodic hardcore, [The Shivering Brigade] energized the crowd and displayed a promising mix of the old and the new…" - Punknews.org

"The Shivering Brigade: Let us entertain you. Let us show you a good time."

"The Shivering Brigade is a 7-piece band, including trumpet, saxophone, and saw, of self-proclaimed gleeful nerds and weirdos who are also talented musicians and gracious hosts who genuinely want to show you the night of your life every time they perform… This New Year’s Eve, The Shivering Brigade is performing their third, annual New Years Eve Masquerade Ball at Rock Shop in Park Slope. If past masquerades are any indication of what’s to come December 31, there is a lot to look forward to. The band recollects the glamorous, masked crowd, pouring champagne from the stage, and a creative fan who built and brought a confetti cannon… Nonesuch summarized the band’s outlook, “We want the audience to have as much fun as we are having!” - The Arts in Bushwick Blog

"Barroom Heroes / The Shivering Brigade / Empty Vessels / Jonee Eathquake Band / The McGunks / The Pity Whores"

"...They are all excellent players with a female lead singer and a female saw player… The saw gave off a sound like a Theremin or like a spooky synthesizer. They reminded me a bit of Siouxsie & The Banshees but without the Goth grimness and lots of the songs had a heavy blues like groove to them provided by the bass. I enjoyed their set…" - ThrashNBang.com

"The Shivering Brigade: Punk is Not Dead"

"...These dudettes and dudes are keeping lady-fronted punk alive in Brooklyn. So much so that the singer, Nikola Nonesuch, even broke her neck stage diving at a show.

'All we want to do is have a really good time and make people forget about all the bullshit that you have to deal with in your everyday life,' says Danielle Kolker. 'Just dance and mosh and scream and sing and party.'

...With the passion and intensity they put into their music I can’t help but feel my legs wanting to do a little skanking." - NY Social Status

"The Shivering Brigade"

"Punk/cabaret is a mix that we don’t hear nearly enough. Thank goodness for Brooklyn based, The Shivering Brigade… full of gut punching bass lines and gin fueled vocals. The Shivering Brigade are doing something very different from their peers… It’s a sound you won’t soon forget. That punk-gypsy-cabaret has been resurrected in Brooklyn." - The Sour Mash Blog

"The Shivering Brigade Interview"

"Vents Magazine: Who’s The Shivering Brigade? How you guys all met and started this band?

Nicola Nonesuch: The Shivering Brigade is an unnervingly good-looking pack of lowlifes, careening hell-for-leather along a trifecta consisting of ill-advised love affairs, petty crime and punk rock escapades. Crime pays better, but punk is more fun, and everyone knows moshing mends a broken heart, so it all balances out…" - Vents Magazine

"The Shivering Brigade"

"Imagine BLATZ reincarnated as a garage goth band with a violin and a saw. It's weird, which I think is the goal." - MAXIMUM ROCKNROLL Magazine

Bio

The Shivering Brigade is a female-fronted band with a unique, high energy sound and fierce stage presence that's earning them a following wherever they go. Truly passionate about the music, they create an experience the audience can lose themselves in, liberating them from diffidence and indifference alike, in favor of dancing, drinking, falling in love and living their night as an adventure. Their style is rooted in punk while also blending deathrock, cabaret, rockabilly, melodic hardcore and swing.

They've been featured on The Chris Gethard Show, successfully crowdfunded and released their first EP, Dog Days and Cat Years, in 2013, and opened for notable punk bands such as Mischief Brew, Defiance, Ohio, The World/Inferno Friendship Society (at their annual Halloween bacchanalia, Hallowmas), and The Slackers (at their spectacular annual holiday show), proving themselves as Brooklyn's go-to partypunks. They've toured around the Northeast from Boston to Virginia, and have torn the roof off every venue where they've performed, from Webster Hall to punk rock landmark ABC No Rio. Their notoriety is corroborated by the press they've received:

"For three minutes, this show actually became what I always hoped it could be!"—Chris Gethard, The Chris Gethard Show

"A combination of early Poison Girls, east coast hardcore, and modern melodic hardcore, the band energized the crowd and displayed a promising mix of the old and the new."—John Gentile, Punknews.org

"Full of gut punching bass lines and gin fueled vocals. The Shivering Brigade are doing something very different from their peers... It’s a sound you won’t soon forget. That punk-gypsy-cabaret has been resurrected in Brooklyn."—The Sour Mash Blog

"Imagine Blatz reincarnated as a garage goth band with a violin and a saw. It's weird, which I think is the goal."—MAXIMUM ROCKNROLL Magazine

Like alchemists transmuting lead to gold, The Shivering Brigade takes inspiration from strife, struggle and tumultuous misadventures, transmogrifying their lousy luck into songs brimming with joy, defiance and humor.
