Biography

Shlomo and Julie started busking on the streets of Montreal to save money for their honey moon... they've been saving ever since.
As their repertoire of old country blues standards expanded, so did the band. Shlomo enlisted the aid of his dearest friend and jazz bassist extrordinaire, Alexander, to fill out the bottom end. With the addition of upright bass to the group, the sound became freer, giving the whole band more room to stretch out. Enter Thanya, the buttery soprano, songwriting genius, violin prodigy, that elevated Shlomo & Julie once more; the cherry on top, so to speak.
If you like music that grooves you'll probably enjoy this.

Lyrics

Louis Collins

Written By: Mississippi John Hurt

Miss Collins weeped.
Miss Collins moaned
To see her son Louis leaving home.
The angels laid him away.

The angels laid him away.
They laid him six feet under the clay.
The angels laid him away.

Bob shot once
And Louis shot too.
Bob shot poor Collins. He shot him through and through.
The angels laid him away.

The angels laid him away.
They laid him six feet under that clay.
The angels laid him away.

Oh, kind friends,
Oh, aint it hard
To see poor Louis in a new graveyard?
The angels laid him away.

When the people found him dead
Well, all the people now they dressed in red.
The angels laid him away.

The angels laid him away.
They laid him six feet under the clay.
The angels laid him away.

Miss Collins weeped.
Miss Collins moaned
To see her son Louis leaving home.
The angels laid him away.
