Bio
THE BEGINNING:
It all started on September 2, 1980 when I was born in the capital of Nigeria. I lived in Nigeria for the first four years of my life. At age 5, I moved to Denver, Colorado. While living in Nigeria and moving to the States, I remember the musical influences of Jimmy Cliff, Fela, and Bob Marley. While adjusting to the American way of life, I found outlets in writing and listening to my parentÂ’s records. My favorites were Tina Turner, the Everly Brothers, popular Reggae & oldies.
INFLUENCES:
My musical influences are Maroon 5, Dave Matthews Band, Jason Mraz, R. Kelly, Ben Harper, U2, Delirious, Killers, Kanye West, Matt Redman, and Jimmy Cliff. I think my diverse taste in
music flows throughout my shows. It kills me to go to a show and know what a band's sound is by the second song. Keeping that in mind, you will hear many musical styles at one of my shows.
EDUCATION:
I attended high school at George Washinton High School where I played basketball. I attended college at Metro State. I earned a degree in Political Science and Legal Studies. While in college, I met and married my wife Jewel at the age of 21. My wife gave me a guitar and lessons as a birthday present. Since then, I have not stopped playing.
HOW IT CAME TO BE:
Now at the tender age of 25, I have been singing and writing my own songs for 4 years. My goal at every show is to have a dynamic style that catches the listener's ear as I hit the first note. I have played locally at Capital Hill People's Fair, Ziggies, Cricket on the Hill, Herman's Hideaway, Larimer Lounge, Trilogy Lounge, Mercury Cafe, and more...
