It directly addresses, among other things the creeping crypto-facsist theocracy threatening our country and society.

Primary early influences include Stones, Who, Aerosmith, classic punk like Dolls, Clash, Jam, Stooges, P. Smith, MC5, Gang of Four, Killing Joke, Siouxie, Cure, Furs, Mekons etc.
Members are veterans of the Cincinnati area punk/alternative scene. Past groups include the notorious Fucking Cunts, the art punk Present Tension, the protest punk of Activate and the subversive post-punk pop of Sniff -the Whip.
Members have performed at Newport's infamous Jockey Club, Southgate House, the Comet and many other area venues past and present.
Very productive songwriting team responds quickly to current events. Shock-N-Awful is not a "roots" band but is lyrically influenced by many of the great
singer-songwriters like James McMurtry, Robert Earle Keen, Steve Earle, Rodney Crowell, Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark.
We play rock but listen to and are influenced by a large variety of musical styles
