Originally formed in October of 2003, Omaha, Nebraska based Shooting Down Satellites are a new band with a unique style of progressive riffs with driving vocals, and a tight knit rhythm section. However, members Zac Larson, Matt Denker, Jeff Buettgenbach, and Alan Larson are no newcomers to the music scene. Each hailing from formerly established local bands, the four came together to create a finely tuned machine. Starting out as a 3 piece with Zac, Jeff, and Matt, S.D.S. began writing together creating unique guitar riffs with driving back beats, and the piercing, melodic vocals of Zac topping the creations. The chemistry between the three was surreal and instant.
The search for the right bass player for the project was not an easy task. In 2005, after many auditions, the final piece was put into place as Alan Larson on Bass Guitar. With the final member, the machine could now function properly.
S.D.S. began gigging regularly in the summer of 2005 playing local venues in the Omaha and Lincoln areas. They quickly gained a following of local fans and the buzz continues as this band keeps progressing.
Giving away energy and pure emotion is the driving force behind S.D.S.
