BandRockPop

Shoot The Messenger is an indie rock project of three Manhattan based singer/songwriters. The group combine pop/folk sensibility with blues infused guitar sylings and heavy driven backbeats.

Biography

Friendly competition is the name of the game for this Manhattan-based rock group. Fronted by three singer/songwriters (Dan Chertoff, Zach Berkman, Jake Smith), Shoot The Messenger unifies a variety of styles with raw energy and tight vocal harmonies. After wowing audiences around the city with their explosive live show, the band (joined by drummer Alex Raderman) entered the studio in the Summer of ‘07 to record an EP of fan favorites. The result of their effort is entitled Get On With It, a six-song demonstration of Shoot The Messenger’s wide collaborative range. From the relentless attack of “Didn’t Know” to the Brit-Rock title track, from the string saturated “Second Guess” to the gritty alt-country “Going Home”, the group checks convention at the door in exchange for an exciting and unpredictable repertoire. The group recently finished recording their debut EP, "Get On With It" with Grammy Nominated Producer Rick Chertoff, to be released Fall 2007. The Album was mixed by Bill Whittman (Cyndi Lauper, Action Action), and mastered by Grammy Award Winner Phil Nicolo.
