Bio
THE SLEEPING YOUNG MAN
My name is Michael Dotson Jr. On August 17, 1986 new life began I born, and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. My hobbies are writing songs, freestlying, and having fun. Ive been rapping since I was 5 years old. Now Im 18 and this is what happens in life with music. In the past 13 years I was in a deep sleep almost like sleeping beauty. In the sixth grade I started writing raps, by 7th grade I was a member of Battleship Records PIRATES. Thats who I started going by the name SHORT STOP. My uncle Rodney let write my own sings and record with him; he was the first person to put a Mic in my hand and said say what you want? In the 8th grade we changed the record to Sho Time. Sho Time first show was at the Pageant, consist of a talent show, we entered with a single so hot called HOOD DANCE. The performance was a disaster. Now Im in the 9th grade decide to focus more on writing, a lot more and get some kind of style about myself. As a sophomore I had three songs recorded and a new single banging at my high school (Ritenour). We now signed a group contract provide by our 1st Manager now we are on our toes. Our Manager signed us up for a show at the Postal Workers Union. Our name was not on the flyers, we did not understand but we did the show any way. Our Manager got us more shows. We did a performance for Joe Torress pep-rally. SHO TIME was on our way to success. Name was on the flyer for the next show, this time we were ready, but we did not perform. We kept asking our manager why werent performing? He never answered putting everybody on and giving attention to everybody but us. We stop dealing with him that night. That situation made us stop dealing with each other also it seem like it took something out of us. We did not stay in touch with each other any more. I made a song called PUT YOUR DRINKS DOWN, in 2003, in the 11th grade. Heard about St. Louis Luv on Tuesday Nights. What they do is play local artist music and also interviews them on the air. DJ She Nice called from the radio station and said she was feeling PUT YOUR DRINKS DOWN. Now she needed another song, but I didnt have anything that was clean. They never heard from me again. I was blessed in 2004 because I had enough songs for an album and I recorded some homemade videos. October through November I entered a free style battle. I became the freestyle battle champion for five weeks in a row the prize was $100.00 every time. I received a lot of respect and recognition in 2004. The beginning of 2005 and Im still writing and Ive even got better over the years. I just performed with a group called 3s Company at the Ambassador, a talent show. We performed 3 hot songs on stage and we even won. So I wrote even more. I know I was not going to be with 3s Company because they were not committed. Now I am a solo artist, SHORT STOP is now 18 years old. It was Easter Sunday at my people house this lady was there and she got to talk about Music and people was you better talk to her and I realize that I already know her. So I let her hear my music and she told me to call her. I called her and set up an appointment and meet with her and she heard my whole CD and before I left she gave me a contract. Went back over her house signed the contract and now Im with P-FUNK 187 ENTERTAINMENT then I woke up out the tower that I was in and now its on and popping. Who havent heard of me will with some new flavor? I said I got my spitin cap on, with my hot chores Jersey, and my banging beats jeans. Kicking down the back door in my P-FUNK boots. Lets get it jumpin; lets get it live! Shouts out to my inspirational rappers: Tupac, Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Ludacris and Busta Rhymes. Its SHORT STOP (SS) and P-FUNK 187 ENTERTAINMENT. Yall betta put a helmet on because its going down.
