"Scene Magazine CD Review: Shred Rot 12-27-12"

by Jeff Niesel

With lyrics that make you want to shield the ears of any close-by babes- (The opening title track is a candid sex anthem) , you'd never picture the band as the young, seemingly innocent, high school trio they are. For three Cleveland guys who got together a little over two years ago, Nuthing Extra Special is a hell of a way to come out of the gate. — Nikki Hunt

Shred Rot is utterly - ridiculously - insanely - awesomely rockadocious, and their new album release, Nuthin Extra Special is truly an extra special project! Who the h-e-double-hockey-stix left the gate open and let these madmen into the yard?! Shred Rot is representing the Buckeye State very well and it's only a matter of time before I see a
Shred Rot sticker on the bumper of some dude in front of me in traffic." Overall, Shred Rot's project 'Nuthin Extra Special' is one of the best alternative grit rock albums I've heard in 2012." "Shred Rot - Our Last Reverb Nation Weekly Featured Artist 0f 2011"

This music may not get you in the Xmas spirit but it sure will rock your soul!

Shred Rot, gotta love that name! It sounds like a death metal mind melting band doesn't it? Well, not quite. This a very young and talented band of young men that waste no time in showing off their talents with a variety of rock sounds that cover the areas of alternative and grunge. The lyrics are a riot as well.

This is what happens when a band has fun, does not take it too seriously and really knows how to deliver the goods. Check them out now! Thier track "Hollow" was our Music Xray track of the week a few months ago so here they are again...lend an ear or regret it for the rest of your days!

"Shred Rot is a rock and roll force to be reckoned with!"

"Shred Rot is a rock and roll force to be reckoned with! Drawing influences from grunge, Jimi Hendrix, and funk, Shred Rot is a breath of freah air in today's over saturated nu-metal and screamo market. Shred Rot's songs are catchy, grinding and angry as piss. The members of the band-Matt Miller, Nick Reinmann and Scott Drazdik, met at the School of Rock Cleveland and are a living, breathing testament to the program and what happens when you pick up your guitar and never look back. The band is also known for their live shows, thrashing around on stage like the godfathers of grunge who inspire them, complete with goodwill sweaters and a drummer who can't seem to keep his clothes on." Shawn Perry (School of Rock, MTV Made coach, Switchblade Scarlet founder and Pesident of New Disaster Records. Their performances draw well deserved raves! They work the fans into a frenzy and leave nothing but puddles of sweat and fans without voices at the end of thier shows! - Shawn Perry - Press Publicity flyer New Disaster Records

This song has to do with the destruction of our precious planet, what we have done to it with our cultures, lifestyels, habits and just plain disregaurd for the place that we all call home and the mess we made of it. Show us a way to fix and repair all that we have done.

Shred Rot & Matt Miller Bio:
Matt Miller -lead vocals - guitar, Scott Drazdik - drums - percussion, Nick Reinmann - bass - backup vocals
Matt Miller formed the group "Shred Rot" in September of 2010, after meeting and performing together at the School of Rock Music in Cleveland, Ohio. Their first album "Nuthin Extra Special" was released on November 16th, 2012, It is a combination of songs all written by Matt Miller including four band member co-writes. Shred Rot’s main goal is to spread a message of hope to its generation through song. Matt stated, “none of us were exactly flourishing in the social realm of our lives; however, we found ourselves through music, and we want to give our fans a feeling of hope to all who feel they're not good enough or who might be having trouble staying afloat". "Sometimes music can get a message across better than words can and we want to be the ones to deliver that message."
Matt was reviewed by Nan Cassidy, Tunesmith Entertainment, a mentor for Music X-ray, in January 2012. Nan became an immediate fan seeing originality in Matt and his group that she rarely sees. After listening, researching and evaluating the music, Nan introduced Matt’s music to Sharon Dennis at Dennis Management to see if she might catch the wave Matt and Shred Rot were creating in Cleveland. After a full day of meetings and evaluations with Matt at the Dennis Management office on Music Row Nashville, the team committed to managing Matt’s artistry beyond the Cleveland School of Rock. Since then, Matt has been co-writing his sophomore project in Nashville with hit songwriters and producers, elevating and fine tuning his skills as a writer, recording artist, and performing artist poised to become a sustainable force in the global music market.
