"Shrinkt" is a fresh musical collective with prospects of prolific longevity. An ensemble constructed of five improvising composers, "Shrinkt's" artistic vision is this:

This group doesn't have a specific fixed sound; it's focus is on transcending basic musical elements (melody, rhythm, meter, harmony, etc...) by utilizing cubist and sonic approaches to improvisation based on originally composed music. Sometimes, completely different structures will appear apart from the original composition itself. Although the "process"of improvising usually results in something else than the composition, it's not a desideratum by any means.

Whatever words used here to describe "Shrinkt's" sound may not be a legitimate explanation why this music sounds like it sounds. This music is generally too abstract to be talked about in a constructive way!

However, the idea of one thought triggering another, or a notion of transferring a specific idea into a different dimension while bearing in mind that element B cannot exist without A, is important to "Shrinkt". These things happen over time in improvised music, an accumulative process. Most importantly though, apart from the fact that not everything that "Shrinkt" plays is influenced by musical works of other composers, it is often beyond musical influence or a quasi subliminal experience.

As far as musical influences, they may span everything between Gesualdo di Venosa to John Coltrane, showing indirect influences of regional folk music such as African, Indian, Balkan, Spanish, Brazilian, Armenian and classical composers like Ligeti, Ives, Prokofiev, Stravinsky, Shostakovich, Bartok and others.
