shtick

shtick began as an unnamed musical project between Jason Fleming and Josh Watson. After recruiting Andrew Martin as bass player, they eventually completed their lineup in the winter of 2009 with the addition of drummer Evan Harris.

Taking on the name shtick at that time (the word shtick meaning any talent, style, habit, or other eccentricity for which a person is particularly well-known), they began performing regionally throughout the panhandle of Florida in the following February and are currently creating their first record with sound engineer and producer Russ Castillo (Russ has worked as a sound engineer with bands like Pink Floyd and The Who, and was also was mentored by Paul Rothchild throughout a large portion of his career).

With a wide variety of tones and tunes, shtick’s music is most often categorized in multiple genres, ranging from rock, soul, blues, funk and jazz. Utilizing a refreshing blend of guitar, piano, bass and drums, the sound is saturated in melodious and harmonious intricacies that will be sure to catch your ear. The band plans to resume a regular performance schedule upon the release of their debut album “No Big Deal” in the Florida panhandle area, and currently are setting up a tour schedule that will include shows throughout the Eastern and Central regions of the US.
