Biography

Shu is known throughout the East Coast as one of the ground breaking founders of the experimental genre-crossing college circuit scene. Shu is at once a jam-band and a dance band, a ska band and a rock band. They are wild improvisation, funk, ska, pop hooks, jazz rhythms, and deep space moods.

North Country Public Radio recently chose Shu from a pool of thousands to be featured on their “Upnorth Music” album, radio show, and concert series. The three songs on this disc were recorded for that project on October 4 2007 in Lake George, NY. The song “Put Your Hands Up High” is the opening track on the UpNorth Music Compilation. These are new recordings not featured on any of Shu’s three previous albums. They are a precursor of things to come on the band’s upcoming studio release.
