The Biography
Shy Hopkins is a force to be reckoned with. This beautiful young lady whom radiates warmth, sincerity, elegance and charm was blessed with a gorgeous voice and an alluring stage presence. But don’t be fooled, behind that magnetic smile is a strong and intelligent songwriter and experienced performer.
Inspired by a wide range of artists such as Aaliyah, Brandy, Michael and Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Sting, Sarah McLachlan, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, and Mariah Carey, Shy auditioned to sing with an award winning choir at the age of 14. And the wheels were set in motion. In almost no time, Shy was given songs in which to lead the choir and started participating in local talent shows and pageants. Then fate struck and Ms. Hopkins moved to Tokyo, Japan where she learned to hone her skills and begin perfecting her craft. Tokyo was invaluable for Shy in helping her understand what being a vocalist is all about. Not to mention a professional. With no understanding of pitch and tone, she managed to land house gigs, concerts, piano bars, weddings at 5 star hotels, professional studio sessions and a few TV spots. And was forced to “figure it out” which helped her find her voice and bloom into the songstress she is today.
Shy’s big smile will warm you, her warm heart will embrace you, her voice delight you, and her words will inspire you.
