Born in Dallas, Tx, Shy Amos began public speaking and poetry recital at the age of 6. She recognized that she had a natural love & gifting for music as well at a young age. However, it was not until age 18, when she rededicated her life to Christ, that she realized the purpose of her gifts.
To provoke thought and inspire worship!
Upon that revelation, Shy opted to delay the public presentation of her talents in an effort to grow in wisdom. During her undergraduate college years, she spent most of her time, of course, pursuing her academic endeavors, but more importantly studying to show herself approved as a workman that needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Instead of reveling in the usual college mischief, Shy joined an organization, A.R.O.C (Above Reproach On Campus) and with a group of peers, used their presence on campus as an opportunity to minister to their colleagues and community. Ms. Amos also served in the U.S. Army National Guard throughout the remainder of her college years. Although she is young, she has a wealth of experience and wisdom.
Her speaking endeavors range from ministering at churches and youth events to speaking at schools and college seminars. In 2009, she was one of the key speakers at a conference on the topic of Abstinence at Stephen F. Austin University. In 2010, she was invited to expound on the same topic to a group of youth through Plano ISD's AVID Program. Shy usually combines her speaking engagements with a musical or poetic presentation.
Recently, ShySpeaks completed her first studio recorded project. Unique in its kind, it serves as a combined EP, of both Poetry and Music! Shy was working on the "Dual EP" titled "ADDICTED" while simultaneously completing a Master's degree in Supply Chain Management. She graduated on May 13th, 2011 and released the Addicted project on July 8th 2011 at her Official EP Release Concert & All Female Showcase!
