Bio

Sib The Kidd, born Shannon Hobbs in Fort Worth, Texas on May 27, 1991, began rapping at the tender age of 8 years old. He resided in the notorious neighborhood Stop Six until he moved to the urban suburb Forest Hill in 2001.

While winning various freestyle battles in school, he gained a reputation for being an exceptional rapper. This eventually led to him forming a group named CMB with fellow emcee Young Zel. Obsessed with sharpening his skills, The Kidd improved his work ethic by writing hundreds of verses each year. Most notably, in 2008, he wrote over 150 verses in a little less than a month. When CMB eventually recorded their first song in the Fall of 2007, his passion for composing music amplified. He finally got a chance to record his first solo song at 17 years old, which he used to submit to an online contest.

Upon graduating high school, The Kidd began working with his cousin`s production group, DreamChasers. Looking to gain buzz, he began releasing various viral videos named Friday Freestyle Sessions on YouTube. Sib The Kidd, formerly known as S-Dot, collaborated with DreamChasers to release his first official project, The Great Intermission, in 2010. With the 6-song EP bringing little success and life pulling the two parties apart, Sib The Kidd and the DreamChasers parted ways, causing The Kidd to start over from scratch.

While working odd jobs, a co-worker introduced Sib to Banger Boy Records owner, James Kline. This proved to be a valuable business relationship, allowing Sib to record his future material frequently. He began recording his first mixtape, 7:ThaMixtape, while working and performing. When he released 7:ThaMixtape on May 27, 2012, the project was met with critical acclaim by old and new fans alike.

Upon finishing 7:ThaMixtape, Sib immediately began working on his EP, ANFWM. Containing the soulful single "Eye See Lies" featuring the sensational crooner Alexis Samone; the Pimp C-sampled street single "AutoDreamin"; and the bouncy, infectious club hit "Turn Down 4 What", Sib released ANFWM on November 26, 2013, receiving critical acclaim.

Combining a special blend of originality, witty metaphors, uncanny passion, exceptional storytelling and a smooth, unique flow, Sib is confident that he will be considered one of the greatest musicians ever. He plans to guide the urban community in a more positive direction in the process. If history perceives itself, his work ethic and musical prowess has him moving in the right direction.
