"Harry Angus Interview"

"SiB, he's like Jimi Hendrix, Shugie Otis, Curtis Mayfield and D'Angelo rolled into one. He does these
60's psychedelic love songs that totally fit in with the D'Angelo kind of vibe.
They're all chilled and funky." - Beat (30/11/2005)

Bio

SiB is the stage name of Adrien Siboulet, French-Australian singer-songwriter & producer, born in Paris, France,
currently living in Melbourne (Australia). He is known for his unique blend of warm Vintage and Neo Soul, Funk &
Rock'n'Roll and sensual vocals. He plays mainly the electric guitar.

EARLY LiFE & BiOGRAPHY:

SiB grew up in Rueil-Malmaison in the western suburbs of Paris and attended the Lycee Richelieu and L’Ecole
des Beaux-Arts de Rueil-Malmaison where he developed his skills as a painter and first learned to play the guitar.
He attended several art schools in Paris before deciding to move to Australia in 1997 to pursue his artistic
education where he studied Fine Arts first in Brisbane then in Sydney where he graduated in 2001. By that stage,
inspired by Hungarian-Australian bass player Jackie Orszaczky, he swapped the paintbrush for a guitar. He started
writing songs and performing with his first band iRiS lead by vocalist and poet Andrew Jans-Brown. They released
two EPs independently and supported Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds before breaking up in 2001. Around that time,
SiB was already writing on a four track analogue tape-machine the content of what would become his signature
songs. He played and recorded drums, bass, guitar, keyboards and eventually started writing lyrics and singing
vocals.

After 3 years of performing and writing in Sydney with various session musicians such as Josh Wermut, Declan
Kelly, Alex Carapetis, Lachlan & Clayton Doley, SiB moved to Melbourne in May 2005 where, through soul singer
Daniel Merriweather, he met the key members of his backing band FAKE CiTY: Jules Pascoe (bass), Marco
Cascarino (drums), Kumar Shome (guitar) and Gideon Preiss (keys).

He sites Jimi Hendix, Curtis Mayfield, JJ Cale, Al Green, D’Angelo, Prince, Pink Floyd and Sly Stone as his major
influences.
