BAND HISTORY:

Sick Circle's story began when Guitarists Debbie Barlow and Dave Phelps decided to collaborate with two other musicians who had the same musical vision…to write guitar driven songs with a heavy groove and stand alone vocals. With Drummer Marc Sita (Short Bus) and Bassist/Vocalist Erik O'Dell (Havoc, Short Bus) on board, they hit the studio running, and wrote and recorded “Mileage” in 2001. The self-released album has sold over 3500 copies and still gets airplay on rock stations across the country.

Sick Circle has had numerous opportunities to showcase their live shows for a number of well known bands, P.O.D., Sevendust, and Saliva, to only name a few. They were also thrilled to be part of the CMJ Conference, the Atlantis Music Conference and numerous other treks across the country. Soon thereafter, the band was then faced with chaos when guitarist Debbie was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2003. Turning to God, faith and family she concentrated on beating the disease and has since anxiously awaited her return to making music!

With the 2010 return of Sick Circle, they focused on the live shows and in January 2011 were a big part of a benefit for Chi Cheng (Deftones bassist) during the NAMM Convention in Anaheim CA. They shared the stage with POD, Head (from Korn) Hoobastank, members of Shinedown and Anthrax. "It was definitely a life changing experience to be a part of...truly humbling" agrees the band. SickCircle is a band that is committed to use their music to also show humanity in action.

THE NOW:

After a brief line-up change in drummers, the band welcomed Shawn Wathen on board and so began the creative process. "We have been writing non-stop for the last 6 months, and the chemistry is undeniable" says Debbie. In September 2011 the band was signed to Potomac Records and entered the studio with Drew Mazurek (Linkin Park, Hellyeah, Nothingface, God Head...). The band’s efforts will culminate this upcoming year with their January 2012 release and tour.
