Sierra Dawn is a 17-year-old singer/songwriter discovered playing in the Red Rooster Coffeehouse in Aberdeen, South Dakota. It’s her favorite place to hang with her friends, and a growing following of fans drawn to her dead honest lyrics, unique voice, and straightforward guitar style.
A representative of Universal Music Publishing Group called her “an incredible writer – for any age.” There have been repeated comparisons with superstars such as Jewel and Alanis Morissette, but it’s more a reference to her talent rather than their similarities. Sierra is one of a kind.
Aberdeen Originals was so moved by her music, that she was signed as their first artist. She is completely at home in the studio, laying down tracks with unbelievable efficiency and poise.
She performs in front of an audience with the same cool consistency: what you hear on her debut album (all analog with no digital correction) is exactly what you’ll hear live.
She's getting airplay on regional college and commercial radio, several streaming stations, and was featured on Billy Zero's "Radar Report" on XM. She recently completed a new single at Universal Music Publishing, at the invitation of Universal's head engineer. Plans are underway for a full album, collaboratively produced.
