Bio

The Significant Others started as two kids playing music with a guitar and a karaoke machine after church every sunday. Those two kids were Alex Moore (vocals, guitar) and Jerry Jacobs(vocals, keys). From that little room upstairs a musical journey began. Jacobs and Moore both attended Rollings Middle School of the arts, Jacobs majoring in vocal music, and Moore in visual arts. In the halls of this school, the duo discovered their passion for performance and songwriting alike. They wrote their first song after Jacobs had an emotional break up after three-day relationship (in typical middle school fashion). From there, the songs started rolling out. Writing about girls and school and pretty much whatever else amused them at the time, Jacobs and Moore were able to impress their family, teachers, and classmates with their abilities. After playing at various family events and parties, Jacobs and Moore took a big step in their musical career, the school talent show. They played “Hold My Hand,” by Hootie and the Blowfish, and scored their first fans. The following year they came prepared with an original song called “Its All You,” and both ended up with new girlfriends by the end of the last show. Little did they know, two of their future band members were sitting in the audience.

Through high school, they performed under the name Shooting Shiloh and played two talent shows, and shows all around the school, including twice in their football stadium. The songs were coming easy, and after building their own home studio, they started recording at every possible opportunity. After writing around 45 songs, and recording around 38, Jacobs and Moore invited some old friends from church and middle school to come play with them. With the addition of Nick Ayers (Guitar, Keys), Elizabeth Nawrocki (Bass), and Conner Rust (Drums), The Significant Others were formed. Now they are looking to take the next step in their music career by performing nationally and hopefully scoring a record contract.
