Bio

Starting out as an idea between Rich (Kendo) Kenwrick (guitar) and Craig Keating (vocals) in late 2008, they soon recruited close friend Rob Greenfield for bass duties ahead of their debut performance in Feb 2009. By enlisting the drumming skills of Jon Aymes in Aug 2010 they clinched the ideal 4-piece line-up that Signify is today.

With an combination of Kendo’s rock ‘n’ roll American stadium-rock guitar, Craig’s metal-inspired gritty yet sonically-masterful vocals, Rob’s metal groove-orientated bass and Jon’s 70’s-tinged blues-metal beats, Signify’s unique sound straddles across both heavy rock and metal. Signify are very much a ‘live’ band with each member contributing to a visual experience that totally captivates and involves the crowd.

In their first year, after endless gigging, together with sheer determination and hard work, Signify soon established themselves within the local music scene. The guys reached the finals of 3 Battle of the Band competitions and went on to win 2 of them! Base-Factor 2009 & UK2USA 2009 (which took them on an all expenses paid week-long trip to New York where they performed at the famous Kenny’s Castaways in downtown Manhattan!)

Year 2 saw Signify hit the studio to record their self-titled debut CD with a headline launch at The Slade Rooms, Wolverhampton in Aug 2010. They also performed in the movie Turbulence, produced & directed by BAFTA winners Natasha Carlish and Michael B Clifford, which has its premiere in London in 2012. Other highlights include headlining the Rock & Heavy Metal Night at Birmingham Artsfest 2010 as well as prime gigs supporting Canadian legends Anvil, Voodoo Six and The Quireboys.

With new material constantly being introduced to their set, Signify always offer something new to their audience keeping their performance fresh and inspiring. Their many reviews speak for themselves........

‘’Signify, the saviours of rock‘n’roll. I might be making a bold statement here, but for twenty-five minutes at least they fulfilled their destiny perfectly. Gloriously riff-soaked songs attacked our senses, performed with a vibrancy and swagger that belied their years.

The set comprised tracks taken from their self-titled debut album and each song built upon the previous drawing us further in to the world that is Signify.

Pounding drums, resonating bass, dirty riffs - all in support of Craig Keatings herculean-sized vocal, as ably demonstrated on the crowd-pleasing ‘Sonic Boom’
Signify are the future, drawing from the past but playing for now. We all need to sign on the dotted line because you never know they might just be the saviours we are all looking for!’’
