"Sunday 06/08/06 E(v)olocity, Signs of Betrayal, ColdFusion @ The Venue Of Scottsdale, Phoenix Arizona"

The next band are Signs Of Betrayal who’s alternative progressive metal creates lavish, spacious soundscapes rich in bass and esoteric moods. Dave Williams has a resonant rich tonal quality to his voice and a delivery akin to Dave Draiman’s from Disturbed. ‘Torn Down’ is an enticing overload of echoes, chugging bass and dark bewitching vocals. These guys are excellent musicians who are deep into their craft. Dave’s vox are intense and passionate during ‘Memory’. In the midst of the cheering crowd a mosh pit of very large lads starts to churn. The song’s tension builds into roars, releases and builds again as it journeys to a sudden, unexpected stop. This is a really good piece.

“The SOB sound is familiar, but different. It is hopeful; hopeful that there actually might be a rock scene developing in PHX. ‘Suffering So Proud’ and ‘Everything I Know’ are especially catchy and almost quirky in their originality." – John Holmberg –Holmberg’s Morning Sickness Show 98KUPD Arizona’s #1 Rock Station. http://www.98kupd.com - John Holmberg 98 KUPD

Bio

With their gritty mix of catchy bass lines and sincere lyrics, Wide Eyed Coma is microcosm of what rock music has evolved into. Akin to their debut album The Reformation, Signs Of Betrayal has continued their assault on the standardization of music. The wide array of themes the band covers is synonymous with the distinct talents that six members bring to each song. Their sound blends passionately into undeniably addictive songs which are genuinely a pleasure to listen to. Their music transcends genre, combining the stylistic traits of modern hard rock with mainstream rhythms and powerful lyrics, allowing anyone who enjoys music—regardless of their preferred genre—to be moved by their music. Signs Of Betrayal prides itself on exploring intimately the feelings, obstacles, and emotions which we all face everyday as people living in today’s world.

Having two years behind them and countless sold out shows, the band has solidified its members, each with their own distinctive talent, to become a major force within the independent music scene. The dynamic the band has created has built a following, which is growing by the day.

The band distinguishes themselves from others primarily because of the way Signs of Betrayal has been organized. Having two lead guitarists, Steve Schon and Scott Ables, along side bass guitarist Steve Blodgett, allows the band to explore distinct musical collaborations leading to a diverse sound. Combining the guitarists with the sounds of keyboardist Steve Byram and drummer Colby Cordova, the stage is set for the heart wrenching vocals of Dave Williams.

Signs of Betrayal writes all their own music, taking life experiences and putting heartfelt lyrics with sincere music behind each song.

The band has been influenced by the music of Tool, A Perfect Circle, Cold, Chevelle, and Korn. Following in these bands footsteps, Signs of Betrayal vows to forever remain creative and unique in their sound, with lyrics of substance creating songs that take you on a journey.
