Bio
Creative, restless and in need of an individual musical output, Norwegian singer/songwriter Sigrid Zeiner started her solo project in 2011. With a background as a classical singer, a degree in pop music, and countless hours of late nights in her home studio , she quickly found her own sound.
Having grown up listening to the likes of Alicia Keys, Björk, Sissel Kyrkjebø and Diana Krall, her vocal style is both soft, powerful, and intimate with a tone you never fail to recognize. Her musical style could be categorised as electronic pop with large amounts of ecstatic synths, interesting beats, and quirky sound effects. She loves the unexpected and dramatic, and there’s always a certain energy in her songs, both lyrically and musically. Her biggest musical influences are Tove Lo, Niki & The Dove, M83, Banks and CHVRCHES.
After many years of releasing demos, producing, writing and collaborating with others (Lorenzo Cosi, BulbMakers, ), Sigrid is finally ready to officially release her debut EP – ‘Uncomfortable EP’ on September 15th, 2014. Staying true to her vision, all songs are written and produced or co-produced and performed by Sigrid.
