"READY TO ROCK"

Students from the Chichester College who have formed a band with a Chi Uni student have just reached the area finals of the Live and Unsigned band competition.
The group describe themselves as one of the most exciting unsigned projects in the UK! They say, “Front-lady Alexis Twine leads with soulful vocals, as the powerhouse rhythm section Simon Stewart on drums and the bass work of Graham Quiggan are given a shade of blues rock by guitarist Kris Faerber”.
Drawing influence from everything from 30s blues to 70s rock to modern soul; artists such as Deep Purple, Chickenfoot, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Black Country Communion, the instrumental side of Silcstone is a bold, well oiled, rhythm machine.
Part of their task is to get as much publicity as possible and so they have asked me really nicely to do my best to get them some local coverage! Littlehampton Gazette, The News (Portsmouth) and the Chichester Observer have all done their bit to drum up support for these young musicians for the next heat on 21st May at Portsmouth Guildhall. Join them on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/silcstone) and if you’re free, get along to that gig! - Chichester Matters

Bio

Vocally compared to the likes of Joss Stone, Susan Tedeschi, Carrie Underwood and Beth Hart, Alexis is a disciple of Jazz and Soul.

Drumming from a very early age, Simon, an active musician in the community, finds inspiration in the form of Chad Smith (R.H.C.P, Chickenfoot), Jason Bonham (Led Zeppelin, Black Country Communion) and Jeff Campitelli (Joe Satriani).

Graham, the most versatile of the band, is influenced by everything from the likes of Rod Stewart to Roachford, from The Kinks to Marvin Gaye.

Kris, the blues student of the band, was raised as a musician on the likes of Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Buddy Guy and Joe Bonamassa. He is now studying Music Technology at Northbrook College so apart from writing the music and playing Guitar, Piano, and Harmonica he also records and produces the bands music.
