Bio
The story of The Yams begins in 2004 where we all met as class mates in Ballyfermot College of Further Education's "Rockschool". In 2005, after discovering that we all had similar tastes and views on music we decided to form the band.
Our main odjective for the band and our music was to create music that we didnt feel was being produced these days. We feel that not enough bands are experimenting with Pop music, like all our influences did, people like - The Beatles, Talking Heads, Stevie Wonder, Brian Wilson, The Smiths, Radiohead.
Over the last year we have being gigging relentlessly around the Dublin Music Circuit, playing headling gigs in some of the capitals most respected music venues, including - Whelans, Crawdaddy, The Sugar Club, Eamonn Dorans, The Hub, and Voodoo Lounge.
June 2006 saw us enter the studio to record our debut EP entitled "Twenty Odd Years", which we plan to independently release in August 2006.
