Silence Rises

Silence Rises are an indie guitar band from Huddersfield, UK. They produce edgy powerful melodic music, with strong vocal lines and crunching, hook filled, guitars.

With an ever growing fan base around the north of England the Silence Rises are busy pushing their unique blend of guitar based indie music further a field by performing and recording.

The band formed in the summer of 2010 combining members of two bands from Huddersfield and Leeds, both of which had enjoyed previous local success. With a rich back catalogue of music they began to piece together a set of considered, intelligent new songs combining ideas from all members. Their attention to light and shade within the music works to bring together sweet tune filled melody with huge towering guitar bursts which take the listener on a dynamic audio journey.

With musical influences as diverse as the Smiths through to Mogwai and Ennio Morricone through to Death Cab for Cutie. These influences are apparent in the genre crossing musical styles and technically adept live performances.

Recent highlights include an excellent support slot with the 'Underground Railroad' at the Night & Day in Manchester and we have been selected by Tim Burgess and the Friends of Mine festival team to play the festival in May 2011.
